What’s under the hood? Technical Features of MetaVis Backup SharePoint Archive Software Tool

MetaVis Technologies recently debuted our Backup SharePoint Archive software tool.  It has been extremely popular since the release and now we get to see a peak at what’s under the hood.  Figuratively speaking of course, if this baby could roar, it would knock your socks off!  The features below provide its present functionality along with anticipated functionality in the coming releases. Items marked with an asterisk (*) are features that are exclusive to MetaVis Technologies Backup SharePoint Archive Tool as other competitors do not offer or have very limited functionality.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

* Restore or copy content to different SharePoint patch levels, service packs or even different SharePoint versions

* Supports enhancing items and document metadata when copying content from the local copy back to SharePoint sites

* Facilitate Extract-Transform-Load migrations of a large volume of data between SharePoint locations (coming soon)

* Supports copying content from the local copy to the SharePoint environment with different data schema than the original environment while preserving original field values in the new columns

* Agent-less, support for public and private clouds, hosted SharePoint, BPOS and Office 365
